Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare with the effect on knowledge, self-efficacy, performance ability and performance accuracy between PC Skillreporting System and Conventional Manikin of College Students. This research design was nonequivalent control group pre-post test design. The data were collected from Dec. 6 to 13, 2010. The Subjects of the research were college students of non-health related departments at S college in G metropolitan city and 57 students were conveniently sampled(experimental group 29, control group 28). The treatment of this study, cardiopulmonary resuscitation education was modified by the author, guided by Park Dae Seong (2010-a), Park Jeong Mi (2006), Park Dae Seong (2010-a) and skill test paper of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (Korea Association of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, 2009). The effect of this program was evaluated by the scales for knowledge, self-efficacy, performance ability. Accuracy of cardiopulmonary resuscitation was assessed with data stored and managed in PC Skillreporting System applying 2005 Resuscitation Guidelines. The data were analyzed by percentage, x2-test, Fisher's exact probability test, paired t-test, t-test using SPSS 14.0 version. The results were summarized as follows. 1. Hypothesis 1, ¡°Experimental group will get higher scores in knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation than control group¡± was supported (t=-2.397, p=.024). 2. Hypothesis 2, ¡°Experimental group will have higher self-efficacy of cardiopulmonary resuscitation than control group¡± was supported (t=-3.566, p<.001). 3. Hypothesis 3, ¡°Experimental group will have higher skill performance ability of cardiopulmonary resuscitation than control group¡± was supported (t=-2.641, p=.014). In conclusion, cardiopulmonary resuscitation education using PC skill reporting system was effective in enhancing knowledge, self-efficacy, skill performance ability and accuracy. Therefore, adoption of instructional methods using PC skillreporting system will be required to increase of accuracy artificial respiration, chest compression and self-confidence about cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
